I’ve been super-excited to be asked to be part of a Christmas YA Christian short story anthology, with a theme of hope.
I prayed my way through, asking God to give us ideas and bring the anthology together, and it’s been really exciting to see how the book has come together! And the exciting news is that it will be available soon!
I thought I’d give you a little glimpse of my two stories…
Callie thinks of herself as too quiet, failing and invisible. She’s a gifted songwriter, but hides behind her silence, afraid of how people react if she steps out. She’d love to sing in the school Christmas concert, but would never dare to risk trying. When she’s forced to partner with a popular bully in Music class, things go from bad to worse. Will Callie ever find the confidence to share her songs?
Tara has always felt unloved. Her dad wanted a boy, and he never lets her forget it. When the crops in her beautiful South Asian village fail and her dad leaves, Tara is sent on a dangerous journey to a terrifying stranger. Forced to escape from somewhere she doesn’t want to be, will she ever find the love she craves?
