Thoughts on a Healing Journey

Do you have stories of God at work in your life? Do you wonder what He is doing? Do you wonder whether He is even there, and whether He cares?

I believe there is always hope when we surrender to Jesus as Lord and Saviour and let the Lord in. I believe the Lord can break through in such beautiful ways when we let Him in, turn from wrong and surrender to His way of doing things.

I thought I’d write out some thoughts I’ve been learning on my own journey of healing.

God is the One I long for most of all. He is the God of all comfort and His love is the only thing that truly satisfies the longings of my heart.

Looking to other people to tell me who I am is based on a faulty foundation. It is not based on the truth.

I am loved by my heavenly Father. In Christ, forgiven and accepted, He delights in me. That changes everything!

From that foundation of being loved, I am free to love others from a whole new place of freedom.

God does things in incredible ways, often on another dimension. He is working even when I don’t realise it, to bring new levels of freedom, hope and healing into my life.

God’s healing may take a lot longer than I expected, but it’s far more thorough, beautiful and freeing than I could have imagined.

I’ve learned that there is such peace in surrender, and letting God be everything. It may be hard won, but it’s worth it.

God has a plan to take care of my every need, in such tender detail, on an incredible dimension I could never I have anticipated. Sure, the journey isn’t always easy in this fallen world, but He has promised to be with me and give me all I need. So I really don’t need to worry! He wants me to trust in Him, rest in Him and do the next thing He has asked me to do.

When I look back, I am amazed by what He has done, on so many levels. Providing for needs in ways and on dimensions that were far more thorough and beautiful than I could have anticipated. Bringing levels of freedom, healing and peace. And yes, there’s more to be done. But looking back to what He has done already gives me hope for the future!

I believe that, when we let Him in, turn and surrender, He does amazing things. Sure, it can be on another dimension or timetable than we first expected. This is a broken, fallen world (not everything gets solved this side of eternity), but, if we let Him work in His way, I believe will be amazed by what He does.

May God bless you today! 🙂

  1. You are so right! Our complete success in every aspect of lives is when we surrender totally to His will. We need to distance ourselves from the trend of taking our own actions without speaking first to the Almighty God. Many times believers go ahead without the direction of God and when they get stuck, then they call out to Him. Its like putting the cart before the horse. Most importantly we just have to give thanks for his faithfulness and his continuous blessings. These simple acts of gratitude can become powerful testimonies of God’s goodness!
