Ok, so here are my Privacy Policy and some legal things…
By taking certain actions on my website, you may give me access to some information about you. For example, you may sign up to my email list, sign up for free resources, subscribe to receive emails when I post on my blog, make comments on my blog posts or choose to buy something using my embedded Bandcamp player. I may therefore have access to your email address, your comment or some limited details about your payment. If you buy something from Bandcamp, I will also be notified at my Googlemail account (see below for a link to their policies).
For personal contacts who sign up for my personal ministry newsletter, this will be sent through Googlemail (see below for terms).
With the odd exception explained in the paragraph below, I will only use your information to do what you I need to do to fulfil what you have asked. For example, if you subscribe to receive notifications of blog posts, you will receive an email when I post a new blog post. If you subscribe to my email list through MailChimp or Mailerlite, you will receive your download email and my email newsletter. If you buy my music through Bandcamp, Bandcamp will email you with download information and information about how to set up an account them, if you want to.
Occasionally, I may contact you based on legitimate interest, if you have been interested in my creative projects or bought something from me before (particularly if you are a friend and I can reasonably assume you would want this), and I believe you would like to hear about more resources that are available to you.
I won’t keep your information for longer than I reasonably need to. If the information is a notification about a comment or email subscription by you, I generally won’t need to keep it longer than a few months (and in no case longer than a year). If it’s your email so you can receive my personal email newsletter (this is not the same as Mail Chimp or Mailerlite emails), I will keep it as long as you are on my email list (if you ask me to remove it, I will delete it within a reasonable time frame, ie a few months). If the information is relevant for or relates to a financial transaction you have made (ie, if you have paid to access one of my albums), I will need to keep a record of this according to the relevant legal requirements, for the legal amount of time required at the time. This is generally 6 years from the end of the last financial year they relate to. If you receive emails from me via MailChimp or Mailerlite, their systems will determine how long an unsubscribed email is kept (see links below).
I won’t pass your information on to anyone else (unless it is one of the third parties listed below, as per their terms linked below), and I will work hard to keep your information secure. In practice, I won’t need to access your information outside of the sites listed below, which will keep your data secure for you. The only exception would be if I needed to provide records for a government authority, in which case this would be in very limited, controlled and secure circumstances.
If you want me to let you know the information I have about you, or to delete any information I have about you, please contact me using my Contact Form and I will be happy to help. To be taken off an email list managed by WordPress, you will need to Unsubscribe through WordPress (for example, clicking Unsubscribe on your latest email). To be taken off my Mail Chimp or Mailerlite email list, please either click Unsubscribe or contact me through my contact form.
If there is a legitimate problem with anything you have paid for through my site, please do let me know and I would be happy to give you a refund. You can contact me using my Contact page. I will do my best to get you a refund by bank transfer (I would need your bank details!) within 2 days, but please allow up to a week just to be safe. The bank I would do this from in Starling, which means that they may be given access to some limited information about you. My songs page features an embedded player from my Bandcamp music site, which you can use to listen to my music and buy songs. If you choose to use my Bandcamp link to make a payment through Bandcamp, your payment and transaction will be managed by Bandcamp. You can find all their terms and information here: https://bandcamp.com/ . I will also be notified through my Googlemail account regarding your transaction.
My email newsletter is managed by MailChimp or Mailerlite. If you opt in to receive my email newsletter, you will be emailed through MailChimp or Mailerlite, so they will be given access to some information about you (such as your name and email address). The email account linked to my Contact Form and forwarded from encouragement@carolineabblitt.com is through Googlemail, so information you share will be in my Googlemail account for a limited time, and Googlemail may be given access to information about you if you choose to contact me. I use Facebook and Instagram business pages. Through these, I may be given information about you, such as your name and details if you contact me. I may also be given information such as insights about your likes, reactions or engagement with my posts, and other information you choose to make available on your page. I will only use these to seek to help you and tailor what I do to serve you better, and fulfil anything you need (such as answering your questions or seeking to improve how I serve and encourage you and people like you!). This is allowed under GDPR, which I take seriously! I won’t share your information with anyone else or keep your personal details longer than I reasonably need to, and in no case longer than the legal limit, which is generally 6 years from the end of the last financial year.
If you contact me through Facebook or Instagram, your information may be forwarded to my Googlemail account (see above), or your message may be backed up on icloud drive (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/icloud/en/terms.html). Aside from using the services described, I won’t share your details with anyone and I will only keep your information for a limited time (as above). This website is hosted by WordPress, which means that WordPress will also have access to information about you when you use this site, and may need to email you as per their policies (see below). For example, you may sign up to Follow my site through WordPress.
