‘In Abba Father’s Arms’ Song Lyrics

I believe that, deep down, all of us are searching; searching for the Arms of a Heavenly Father and love that will not let us down.

I have found love beyond my wildest dreams, in the Arms of my Abba Father through my Lord Jesus Christ. He has forgiven me of all of my sins, and given me freedom and hope I couldn’t even imagine. I long to share that discovery with you: to help you find forgiveness, peace, comfort, amazing love here and now, and the way to astounding eternal life beyond the challenges and pain of life in this broken world.

My prayer is that these songs will help you on a journey of finding true, lasting love in the arms of Abba Father, despite whatever life has thrown at you.

In some of the songs, I’ve tried to express things I believe the Lord would say. I’ve tried to base them loosely around themes and verses from the Bible, but many of them are my words, and I know my words don’t have the authority of Scripture, so please don’t take them that way, but I pray that that they will help you to draw closer to Him.

May you find the Arms of Abba Father through the cross of Jesus Christ, surrendering to follow Him as Lord, turning from wrong and receiving His forgiveness through Christ.

Something the Lord has impressed deeply on my heart is that His forgiveness can never come from anything we have done, but it’s about letting go of everything we have done, and trusting wholly in what Jesus did on the cross. May you find the only way of rescue from eternal judgement and Hell, and the only way to Love beyond our wildest dreams. I know from experience that there is nothing like knowing Him. May these songs draw you close to Abba Father’s heart.

Finally Found Home

May your heart find peace in the loving Arms of Abba Father.

I’ve found a safe place;

Found open arms,

Where I can rest,

Where I’m safe from harm,

In this place of surrender,

Where I gave up to start again,

I find the arms that embrace me

Where Christ’s blood made me clean.

Chorus

In the arms of Abba Father,

I can lay my burdens down.

Jesus gave His blood to wash me.

It’s all been forgiven now.

He’s been seeking me all along

And in His arms the ache is gone.

Abba Father’s arms are where I belong.

My heart has finally found home.

Healing is here.

Here I find peace.

There’s joy for the tears;

In His love, release.

And deep fears find peace now.

His love drives them away.

All the stains washed clean now.

I’ve been loved every day.

Chorus

In the arms of Abba Father,

I can lay my burdens down.

Jesus gave His blood to wash me.

It’s all been forgiven now.

He’s been seeking me all along

And in His arms the ache is gone.

Abba Father’s arms are where I belong.

My heart has finally found home.

Bridge

So it doesn’t matter what they say.

His love is all I need to know.

Abba Father’s arms are where I belong.

My heart has finally found home.

And He calls to you,

“Won’t you come to My arms now?

Come and be washed.

Turn from wrong. Let mercy meet you.

Find forgiveness at the cross.

Through the blood of Jesus,

Your broken heart can be made whole.

The lifelong search is over.

You’ve found where you belong.”

“In My arms”, calls Abba Father

“Come and lay your burdens down.

At the cross, I wait to wash you.

Come and find forgiveness now.

I’ve been waiting here all along

And in My arms you’ll find your home.

Abba Father’s arms are where you belong

And I wait to bring you home.”

Free

For those who have suffered and long for comfort and hope. May you find comfort, peace and abundant hope when you surrender your heart to Father God.

Bring to Me your broken heart.

Lift those tear-filled eyes to Me.

All the pain inside, all the shame you hide;

It’s really My loving arms you seek.

I’ll give double honour for your shame;

Rich beauty for your ashes;

All the scars will shine with gemstone light.

You’ll find true love at last.

Just come and surrender to Me

And, in time, you’ll see that…

Chorus

Life will rise, will rise again;

Like Eden your wilderness will be

Your heart will sing with hope again

When Abba Father’s love sets you free.

Streams bubble up from desert ground

As comfort fills and heals your scars,

And the winter’s snow is drenched with green.

Your time of singing comes.

So don’t remember former things.

In Me, all things are made brand new

And the lost years that the locusts stole

Will come abundantly back to you.

Just come to My arms. Come to Me.

And, in time, you’ll see that…

Chorus

Life will rise, will rise again;

Like Eden your wilderness will be

As hope rises up to sing

A song of victory.

And, in My arms,

Joy will be restored again.

I’ve planned such a beautiful end.

You’ll sing with abundant hope in Me

When Abba Father’s love sets you free.

Bridge

So turn from sins you cling to.

Let go of other things.

Let go of all the idols. Let Me, the Father, in.

Cos My love is the Answer.

I’m all you’re looking for.

I give the living water

And hope forevermore.

I’m the One you’ve been looking for.

And, in time, you’ll see that

Chorus

Life will rise, will rise again;

Like Eden your wilderness will be

As hope rises up to sing

A song of victory.

And in My arms

Joy will be restored again.

I’ve planned such a beautiful end.

You’ll sing with abundant hope in Me

When Abba Father’s love sets you free.

Love of my Life

For my faithful Lord.

I’ve found the sweetest refuge in Your Arms, my Father God.

Encompassed by almighty love so strong.

Immeasurable, eternal, Your glorious power holds the world,

But now you hold me close where I belong.

And, in Your arms, I’ve found home.

Lord You are my prize;

My heart’s desire

And I sing because You are mine.

Chorus

Pearl of highest price,

My heart is satisfied

And all the searching now is over.

I’ll drink from the river of delights.

My Beloved is mine.

Other wells run dry. Lord, in You I find the Love of my life.

I’ve found a Love eternal

In the One Who died for me;

Spilling out His life in blood to set me free.

In Jesus Christ my Saviour, King of Kings and Lord of lords,

Is my closest Friend and the Lover of my soul.

Lord You are my prize;

My heart’s desire

I sing because You are mine.

Chorus

Pearl of highest price,

My heart is satisfied

And all the searching now is over.

I’ll drink from the river of delights.

My Beloved is mine.

Other wells run dry. Lord, in You I find the Love of my life.

Bridge

And the day will come

When you burst through the sky;

Take Your throne in radiant light,

And all is put right;

And, when You split the sky

As You come for Your Bride,

You’ll be our glorious prize;

Our heart’s desire.

We’ll be forever satisfied.

My loving God,

My Father God,

You are mine forever.

Jesus Christ, You satisfy:

My sweet and faithful Saviour.

The ache has gone

And peace has come

Now You are mine.

Chorus

Pearl of highest price,

My heart is satisfied

And all the searching now is over.

I’ll drink from the river of delights.

My Beloved is mine.

Other wells run dry. Lord, in You I find the Love of my life.

My Jesus

(With adaptation of ‘What a Friend we have in Jesus’, Joseph Scriven and Charles Crozat Converse, public domain)

All my life, Jesus has been faithful to me.

I was just a little girl

When I fell in love.

I encountered love so strong and true.

You wooed me to Your cross of grace,

Where my heart and stains I gave.

You washed me clean in Your blood

And now I’m Yours.

You gave me the gift of salvation forever;

Took this little girl in Your arms of love.

You taught me the answer is always to trust in You,

And my Jesus is the Best Friend in the world, I know.

Oh, what a Friend I have in Jesus.

And every day, all the way…

Chorus

You’re there for me through everything,

With love beyond my wildest dreams.

You’re mine for now and You’re mine forever.

You’re my joy eternally.

And, as I grew, I came to find

You are the rock beneath my feet.

This messy girl knew where her heart could hide.

Through childhood ways, through schoolgirl days,

Lord You were always there,

Forgiving my sins, hearing my prayers,

And, through all the mess and confusion of growing,

Yours were the arms that never let me go.

You always answered me; counselled me,

Never let me down,

And my Jesus is the best Friend in the world, I know.

Oh what a Friend I have in Jesus.

You’ve been there through the broken times

When nothing else could help.

You comfort, Lord, You hold me

When I cry.

You go so deep, You heal the springs

With love beyond my dreams.

You are the Fount when all else is dry.

In You I’ve discovered the love of a Bridegroom

Who’ll always have the first place in my heart.

And always, forever You will be pursuing me,

And my Jesus is the Best Friend in the world, I know.

Oh what a Friend I have in Jesus.

What a Friend I have in Jesus.

What a Friend I have in Jesus.

What a Friend I have in Jesus.

He’s always so faithful to me.

And, as I walk forward through this life,

I know Your hand in mine.

You meet me. You counsel me. You care.

You open up Your loving hand and meet my every need.

Through every storm and trial, Lord, You’re there,

And I know the secret to walking through this world

Is to know You and live from Your arms.

You always amaze me. It’s true as it’s always been

That my Jesus is the best friend in the world, I know.

Oh what a Friend I have in Jesus.

What a Friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear;

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer.

Oh, what peace we often forfeit;

Oh, what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer.

And I am living for the day when I will see Your face.

You’ll meet me and You’ll wipe my tears away.

You will be the joy of joys.

You are the love we’ve craved.

Forevermore, Your people will be Yours,

And all of the sky will split open with glory

As You come to reign and to take home your bride.

You’ll be the joy of Your people forever.

You will be our light; the delight of our eyes.

Yes, Jesus is the Love of our lives.

In Abba Father’s Arms

Encouragement when I am afraid! My words aren’t Scripture, although I tried to base them around Scripture, so please don’t take them that way, but I hope they bless you.

Through the trials and the tears,

I’ve found a place of peace.

I hide under the wings of God.

He speaks His words to me.

I found in Christ salvation.

He gave His blood for me.

He offers me protection.

I’m His eternally.

Chorus

In Abba Father’s arms,

Lord, You’re my hiding place.

In Abba Father’s arms:

Everlasting arms of grace.

The storms around me rage.

In Jesus Christ I’m safe.

Cos I am held in Abba Father’s arms.

So I can let go of my fear

And rest in Love so strong.

Surrender to this Majesty

And hope in God alone.

I know the Lord is with me

No matter what life brings.

My hope is in Christ Jesus.

I’ve found security.

Chorus

In Abba Father’s arms,

Lord, You’re my hiding place.

In Abba Father’s arms,

Everlasting arms of grace.

The storms around me rage.

In Jesus Christ I’m safe.

Cos I am held in Abba Father’s arms.

Bridge

“Fear not, child. I’m with you.

You’re safe within My wings.

With My right hand I’ll help you.

I’m here, child. Do not fear.”

So, no matter what the trials the tears,

My heart can always sing,

For I know I am His very own.

The Son has set me free.

For my Father’s always there for me

And He has good plans for me.

Yes, the Lord will bring me safely home

To joy eternally.

Chorus

In Abba Father’s arms,

Lord, You’re my hiding place.

In Abba Father’s arms:

Everlasting arms of grace.

The storms around me rage.

In Jesus Christ I’m safe.

Cos I am held in Abba Father’s arms.

All in All

A prayer of trust in the trials.

As I walk through this trial,

Lead me through the fire,

For You said that the flames won’t touch me.

I can walk through this Red Sea

And I’ll know Your victory

Cos I choose to trust You, Lord.

Lord, the battle is raging

And my courage fading,

But You said that You’d be with me

And I know You’re faithful

And I know You’re able

So I choose to trust You, Lord.

Cos You’re here and…

Chorus

Lord, through the storm,

I find Your loving arms.

You are holding me close

As You make my heart whole.

You’re a faithful Father.

You’re enough, Lord, You’re All in All.

Lord, You told me You’re with me.

You told me You’re for me.

You said, “Don’t be afraid or dismayed.”

Lord, You hold me. You carry

Me through the valley,

So I choose to trust You, Lord.

As I go through this valley,

You still can use me.

I will serve as I sow through tears of pain,

For there will be a harvest.

Your Kingdom advances

And I choose to trust You, Lord.

In You, my future is awesome.

You’ll lead me to Heaven,

Where You’ll wipe all my tears

Away from me.

Your plans are amazing.

My hope is unfading

So I choose to trust You, Lord.

Over My Fear

When I am anxious, there is a place of refuge and comfort in the strong arms of God. I’ve tried to capture something of that. My words aren’t Scripture, although I’ve tried to base them around Scripture, but I hope they bless you.

I am Safe in the shadow of the Almighty,

In the shelter of His wings;

I am tucked like a lamb close to His heart strings,

And, over my fears, it’s like my Father sings,

“You have My strong protection

When you’re walking close to Me.

My right hand will hold you.

My love sets you free.”

Chorus

The Lord will carry me

Everywhere I go.

His love will comfort me.

In Abba’s arms, I know

There is no fear, no fear,

There is no fear in love.

“You are My treasure;

My beloved.

Kept as the apple of My eye;

Child, and My plans for you are so abundant.

I watch over you, for you are Mine.

So be strong. I will help you.

I am with you all the time.

My love will be your anchor.

I’ll never leave your side.”

Chorus

The Lord will carry me

Everywhere I go

His love will comfort me.

In Abba’s arms, I know

There is no fear, no fear,

There is no fear in love.

Bridge

“You are My child,

You are My child

And I watch over you.

Hidden in My Son,

You’re washed in Christ’s blood.

I know My plans for you.

As your Shepherd, I will lead you,

As your Father, I’ll provide.

I’ve already gone before you.

In Me you can hide.”

Chorus

The Lord will carry me

Everywhere I go.

His love will comfort me.

In Abba’s arms, I know

There is no fear, no fear,

There is no fear in love.

Somehow

For those who carry pain deep underneath, and long for someone who understands. May you know how much Jesus cares.

You’ve carried so many tears:

So heavy, so long.

You got so used to them being there.

You learned to go on,

But there are scars in your heart,

Always tears behind your eyes;

You got so used to pain you’ve buried deep inside.

You don’t see love surrounding you.

Can you hear Him say, “I know…

Chorus

That you’re carrying a scream

Through each day and each night,

And there’s a deep well of tears

That goes with you through life,

And you so want to know that someone understands,

And that all of your tears mattered somehow.

You’ve been a brave warrior.

You got hurt, still fought on.

You got used to deep wounds;

Oh, you cried but you carried on.

You learned to be strong.

You got good at pretending.

Sometimes almost forget,

But then your heart never does.

You don’t see love surrounding you.

Can you hear Him say, “I know…

Chorus

That you’re carrying a scream through each day and each night

And there’s a deep well of tears that goes with you through life,

And you so want to know is that someone understands

And that all of your tears mattered somehow.”

Bridge

And then you see in His eyes

The deep compassion as

He looks in your eyes,

And He tells you, “I know.”

And He holds you as you feel and He loves the pain away,

And holds you as His tears wash that well of tears away.

You see the look in His eyes and you know He understands,

And you know that to Jesus your tears mattered so much.

Those who sow in tears will reap a harvest of joy.

Yes, I know to Jesus your tears matter so much.

It’s All Right

Reassurance for the anxious Christian. My words aren’t Scripture, so please don’t take them that way, but I hope they bless you.

It’s all right.

My little child, I hear you.

It’s all right.

I have got you safe in My hands.

I have got you safe in My plan.

And from My hand comes all you’ve ever need.

So you can come to Me and find sweet comfort.

Let My tender heart bring relief.

You dont need to be afraid.

Just come to Me and I’ll be all you need.

Chorus

For you are My child.

I am Abba Father.

I am your Provider.

I am your Comforter

And I meet all your needs.

I am your Helper.

I am your Shelter.

I gave My Son to set you free.

So come to Me and I’ll be all you need.

So come to Me, receive My love.

I’m here to heal you.

Come to Me, receive My love,

Waiting for you.

Come to Me, receive My love,

Cos I am here for you.

You dont need to fret.

You dont need to worry,

Cos I’ll always be everything you need.

You’re Beautiful to Me

I tried to echo words of encouragement and reassurance from the Father to the suffering Christian, following Him through a difficult time. My words aren’t Scripture, although I tried to base them around Scripture, so please don’t take them that way, but I hope they bless you.

You’re beautiful, so beautiful,

My dear, beloved child,

And I have seen all your tears.

To Me, you matter,

And, through it all, child I’ve been here

With arms aching to hold you near.

You’re beautiful, so beautiful to Me.

And I will satisfy,

And I will give new life.

There’s no shame; there’s only grace

For every broken cry.

For all the stains, for ways you’ve failed,

There’s mercy.

You trusted Me. I made you clean.

You’re clothed in Jesus Christ. You’re free.

You’re beautiful, so beautiful to Me.

Chorus

And My delight is in My bride.

I’ll sing My love song lullaby.

My precious jewel, My cherished child:

So beautiful to Me.

Bridge

And all your tears I’ll wipe away,

And all your shame in love replaced.

I’ll honour you. I’ll heal and bless

With double joy, in righteousness.

And I have seen the road you’ve been

Walking all this way,

And I know well the suffering in your story,

And, through it all child, I’ve been here.

I am the faithful God Who sees.

You’re beautiful, so beautiful to Me.

The lessons learned at every turn

Have drawn you close to Me,

For I am all. It is enough to know Me.

Child, I am here.

I’ll dry your tears.

I’ll satisfy your thirst with Me.

You’re beautiful, so beautiful to Me.

And one day soon you will see

Eternity with Me.

Forevermore, I will be yours.

I’ll bless you.

And you will see how I restore

Oh, I’ll be your abundant joy.

You’re beautiful so beautiful to Me.

And through the years I will be here.

Oh, I’ll be all you need,

And I’ll provide abundantly.

I’ll carry.

And you will see, dawn will break through.

My bride will rise. I’ll be with you

You’re beautiful, so beautiful to Me.

And you will see how all your dreams

Will be fulfilled abundantly.

You’re beautiful, so beautiful to Me.
