Have you ever forgotten something important? Something you really needed to remember? Something that would so help and encourage you, if only you could remember it?
I’ve recently come back from a couple of days at the Keswick Convention. It’s always so encouraging to be at an event with many other Christians. There’s something so precious about singing together, celebrating the joy of God’s amazing goodness together.

And, for me, Keswick was a beautiful reminder of the love of God. One of the talks in particular reminded me of the immense ocean of God’s love for His children who are trusting in Christ, and the incredible joy and privilege of being able to know Him and walk with Him (you can find all of the talks on YouTube under Keswick Ministries- this one was Week 3, Dane Ortlund’s talk on 2 Cor 13:14, ‘Transformed: Looking Everywhere’). It was based on the grace in 2 Corinthians:
‘The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.’ 2 Corinthians 13:14
It’s such a beautiful reminder, especially for the hard days, and the days when I feel like I’m failing. Trusting in Christ and following Him, I’m surrounded by an ocean of God’s love, mercy and grace.
I’ve found that the Father’s love is so incredible… So healing… So life-changing…
One of the songs on my new album is called ‘In the Father’s Arms’ (it’s the second song on my album- you can sample it on the player below by scrolling back one). It’s about God’s incredible love and mercy for all those who trust in Jesus. It’s about knowing the Father of the fatherless, and the comfort of the desolate, as we come through Christ and surrender to Him (and recording it in the studio was very special, because God’s presence was very much there as Andy Green arranged it with beautiful violin parts!).

In the Father’s Arms
You see the forgotten.
Your loving arms are still enough.
You care for the abandoned, alone.
Your heart longs for us.
Your love’s calling out to us:
Your arms reaching out for us.
You’re the Father of the fatherless:
The comfort of the desolate.
There’s refuge in this family You have made,
And we find our home in the Father ’s arms.
Jesus, You came in humility:
Your life poured out in perfect love.
You spilled Your blood in agony.
You died, You rose for us.
Your Love made a way for us.
Your love offers grace to us.
You’re the Rescue for our brokenness,
Offering forgiveness for our every debt,
Your love made a way when Your mercy bled our death,
Now You lead us home to the Father’s arms.
So, Lord, I’m coming now,
Bringing You my heart.
I surrender now
Father to Your Arms.
Jesus, I believe.
Will You wash me, make me clean?
I hear You calling me.
I turn from wrong. Will You come in?
In love You now welcome me,
With joy singing over me.
You’re the love I’ve craved, the deep missing piece,
Offering forgiveness for the guilt that’s chased me.
You’re mercy that forever sets me free,
And I find my home in the Father’s arms.
You’re the Hope upon the horizon.
You’re the loving arms, the Home that beckons.
Our Bridegroom will come with the clouds for us
And soon we’ll be home in the Father’s arms.

I have found that knowing His incredible love through faith in Christ changes everything. The love, and the future hope, that He offers for all who follow Jesus is amazing to me! And I believe that His love is reaching out to you right now, calling you to come to Him.
Whether you know Him already or have never turned to Him before, may you seek Him, and, surrendering to Jesus, know more of His love… for you.
