What do most long for in this life?
I’m learning that nothing satisfies me like time in the presence of God.

I’ve been watching videos about what happened in Asbury last February. As far as I can make out, some students were praying and seeking God, and God poured out His presence in a special way for a few days. Many people were touched, and God did a deep work in their hearts and lives. Many turned from sin and idolatry. Many trusted in Jesus for the first time.
I know there are probably lots of opinions about it on social media, and I wasn’t there, but from what I have seen, at least much of it looks real to me… and very beautiful… and very full of hope for those who come to Christ in other places.
An outpouring of God’s love. Of repentance. Of worship. Of humility. Of worship. Of people getting to know Jesus.
And watching videos about what happened at Asbury last year makes me hungry for what God could do here and now.
And what is more beautiful than encountering the love of God? (If you never have, I really recommend getting to know Him!)
I really believe that we were made with a God-shaped hole inside us, and nothing satisfies us apart from His presence, and His love.
It encourages me to pray for God to pour out His Spirit in other places, too. It encourages me that He wants to meet me (and us). That He wants to pour out His presence. That He wants to bring us to Himself. That He wants us to seek Him, and to ask, because He actually wants to answer.
Someone challenged me recently to spend five minutes a day praying for revival. I haven’t always done it, but I’m trying to do it more and more often. And Asbury encourages me that He wants us to seek Him, because He actually wants to answer.
So I guess I’m encouraging you to try it, too!
I honestly believe that there is nothing better we can experience in this life that the presence of the Lord, and a life of communion with Him.
And I believe He wants us to live a life of knowing Him, and that we can seek Him for more of His presence, because He longs to give us Himself.
