Do you live life aware of the presence of God? Live like He’s with you, moment by moment? I want to, but I so often forget this truth! And God has been reminding me.
I so easily forget the Lord. I can live caught up in the never-ending to do list, chased by fear, and looking ahead.
And then sometimes I catch myself and realise that I’m missing the Lord: that I’m forgetting that He is with me. But I think He is gently trying to remind me of something: that, right now, belonging to Him through Christ (and you can too) I’m surrounded by His presence and His love.
That He is with me. That, in Christ, His heart towards me is love. That He is inviting me to receive His loving presence with me. That I don’t need to earn His presence with me. I don’t even have to perform perfectly, because I’m forgiven and accepted by the blood of Jesus (and you can be, too, if you trust in Jesus and follow Him- if you’re not sure what I mean or want to find out more, you can check out a little message from me here).
I so easily have a running commentary in my head: a never-ending to do list, looking ahead in fear, calculating my strength for the potential problems that might come next.
But He is with me right now. He is, and will be, abundantly Enough. And I think He wants me to receive that, and enjoy that, right in this moment. And the next. And the next. And now.
‘O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.’ Psalm 139:1-5
God with me. Right now. And every moment. And it’s something I can live in the light of, and drink in, and enjoy.
