When Your Heart is Hurting

Recently, the Lord has been encouraging me about His gentleness.

His kindness, and His tenderness. And His compassion for us when we are hurting.

I believe that, when we are hurting, His heart aches to comfort us.

He gave His Son so we can be forgiven, when we come to Him through Jesus, turning away from wrong and believing in Jesus as Saviour, surrendering to Him as Lord. And I believe (and have experienced many times) that His heart aches to comfort us through the pain of this world.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort” 2 Corinthians 1:3

Here are some (unfinished) words of a song I have been working on recently.

There’s no-one more tender than the Father:
No arms that are stronger,
More loving and gentle.
There’s no heart more loving than the Father’s,
And the Lord wants to hold you close.

And, here in your grief, He is calling:
Waiting with arms
That ache when you’re hurting.
With mercy, the Father is yearning.
Yes, the Lord wants to hold you close.

The Father is waiting.
The Father is calling.
The Father is drawing
You into His arms.
The Father is waiting.
The Father is calling.
Yes, the Lord wants to hold you close.

“Come to Me. Come to Me.”
Here in His arms, there is peace.
He says, “Come to Me. Come to Me.”
Yes, the Lord wants to hold you close.

The Father is waiting.
The Father is calling.
The Father is drawing
You into His arms.
The Father is waiting.
The Father is calling.
Yes, the Lord wants to hold you close.

You can find more songs of comfort and hope on my album, “In Abba Father’s Arms”, which you can get here.
