God has been teaching me lately about trusting Him.

About trusting in God’s goodness when it doesn’t make sense.
Trusting that He is acting in love, and that He knows what He is doing.
Maybe it doesn’t make sense now, but one day it will.
Trusting in Jesus as my Saviour and following Him as my Lord, I belong to the Father, and He is on my side (and that can be true of you, too- you can check out more about that in my message here).
My Father is trustworthy and loving, and I don’t even have to understand.
He wants me to trust His faithful heart.
He wants me to trust in His kindness.
That He is working all things together, in love.
When things seem hard, it’s like there are tears of love and mercy in His eyes. His heart is full of grace towards me.
He wants me to hope in Him, and His almighty love.
He will be with me through it all.
And He has a plan.
I don’t have to understand, or even to know what tomorrow will bring.
I just need to rest in my Father’s love and mercy, lay my head on His breast and take it one step at a time.
He doesn’t want me to worry. He doesn’t even require me to understand.
He just wants me to trust.
I believe that He longs to use bewildering times to draw us closer to Him: to pull us into His embrace, and hold us there.
And even to heal us, comfort us and minister to us when we are there.
While we come to Him through Jesus, and rest in Him.
Here is a song I wrote about trusting God through tough times:
