The place where I find peace…

Doesn’t life seem crazy sometimes? And often hard. Even when you’re not in the middle of a big trial (and my heart goes out to you if you are), there are worries and hurts and daily problems…

For me, I’ve found that the sweetest place is coming away with the Lord, worshipping and meeting with Him. In His presence, coming to Him, trusting in Jesus as Saviour and surrendering to follow Him as Lord (which is the only we can come and find true peace for eternity- you can find out more here), I find strength, wisdom, comfort, peace, forgiveness… In His presence, I find strength to face this life.

I’ve learned that there is such strength and help in coming away with Him. Life is crazy, and it’s so easy to lose perspective and get bogged down. I find that, in His presence, there is wisdom. There is strength. There is help. At the end of the day, I know that it’s all about Jesus. Making time to be with Him somehow brings grace and help to the rest of the time, even when things are crazy!

I wrote a song the other year. It started as a different song, but during a time of prayer I sensed the Lord’s leading to write it in the present tense. May He use it to help you meet with Him, and in Him find the strength and peace you need.

Written by Caroline Abblitt, Produced by Andy and Wendy Green for Cornerhouse Productions.
From the album ‘Come to Me’.

Here and now I come.
Lord, I know I need You.
Bringing all my failure,
At the cross, wash me again.

Surrounded by Your love,
I hear Your still small whisper:
“Rise up, My beloved
one and come away.”

Can I be like Adam was:
Walking with You, God,
In the cool of the day?

Cos You are my Father.
Your love is Enough.
You are the water
I’ve been thirsting for.
You are my First love
And, here in Your arms, I’m home.
Father, please hold me close.

Lord I come to talk.
Here is where my peace is.
Abba Father, I’m weighed down.
Your arms are my relief.

I bring my cares to You.
Father, take my burdens.
You hold me and You comfort
As You pour out Your love.

Light shone from Moses’ face,
From that holy place where
He met with God.

Cos You are my Father.
Your love is Enough.
You are the water
I’ve been thirsting for.
You are my First love
And, here in Your arms, I’m home.
Father, please hold me close.

You’re waiting for me.
You watch over me.
Even when I can’t see,
You’re here loving me.

Brought near by the blood,
Held close by my God.
All around, above
Is my Father’s love.

Can I be like Enoch was,
Walking with You God,
Each and every day?

Cos You are my Father.
Your love is Enough.
You are the water
I’ve been thirsting for.
You are my First love
And, here in Your arms, I’m home.
Father, please hold me close.
